Studio Tour: Patchwork Posse

Welcome to our final day of Studio Tours! Today we are visiting the studio of  Moda Bake Shop Chef Becky Jorgensen of the blog Patchwork Posse. If you missed the other spaces, you can see them all {here}.

{Have you visited our Show Off Your Stash Link Party yet? Tour the sewing spaces of other Moda Bake Shop readers like you!}

Here we go! Becky doesn’t just have a sewing room…she has a sewing cottage! She converted a backyard cold storage into a 15′ X 12′ work space that fits *almost* everything. (Quilters always need a little bit more room, don’t we?)

Let’s step inside a for a look around.Watch your step!

Becky has a great stash and a nice quiet spot to work on her projects. She collects buttons, dolls and other little things that catch her eye.  Not much has been done on the decorating side of the things, but it’s on her to do list!

I spy a long arm in the background! What a lucky gal.

Thanks for letting us into your space, Becky! You can see more of her studio {here}.

With Long-Arm Envy,

Studio Tour: Happy Quilting

Today we are touring the studio of  Moda Bake Shop Chef Melissa Corry of the blog Happy Quilting.

{Have you joined our Show Off Your Stash Link Party yet? Come see other reader sewing spaces.}

Here we go! Melissa has a lovely and well-organized space to sew. She calls it her happy place and it is easy to see why.

She has a spot for everything, and she keeps it all organized. Her fabric is stacked and stored by color. Melissa tells us that her full-size ironing board is indispensable.

Even her scraps are stored in an organized fashion:

I think the theme of this studio is, “A place for everything, and everything in its place!” Thanks for letting us into your space, Melissa! You can see more of her studio {here}.

Color-Coding My Scraps,

Studio Tour: Jo’s Country Junction

Today we are touring the studio of Moda Bake Shop Chef Jo Kramer of the blog Jo’s Country Junction.

{Tour other studios in our Show Off Your Stash Link Party.}

Jo has a very organized studio with lots of cabinets to keep the real mess out of sight! She lives in an old farm house, and you can see how warm and cozy it must be.

Jo tells me “We put the cupboards in a few years ago to help hide my mess but I can’t keep all my things contained into just the cupboards.  I keep my fat quarters and cut fabric in the plastic drawers that I really want to replace someday with something wooden and more sturdy.”

Jo keeps her Moda pre-cuts stored in the built-in cabinets until she has a specific project for them. Then they find a home in these great organizer baskets, which help her keep the project tidy while the quilt top is coming together.

Thanks for letting us into your space, Jo! You can see more of her studio {here}.

Studio Dreaming,

Studio Tour: Vintage Modern Quilts

Today we are touring the studio of Moda Bake Shop Chef Lisa Calle of the blog Vintage Modern Quilts.

{Have you joined our Show Off Your Stash Link Party yet? If not, you can link up here.}

Let’s take a peek! Lisa tells us, “I frequently make changes to my sewing space. I can never seem to find the perfect arrangement or the right furniture pieces. I suspect the real problem is that I have too many supplies, too much fabric, and too many WIPs!”

Lisa’s space is filled with inspiring little objects and art, and she tries to keep everything tidy on shelves and tucked into drawers. She has a special spot for her Moda pre-cuts. That’s a very inspiring shelf, indeed.

Lisa keeps her one yard and larger pieces on mini bolts, and she says that it has given her a lot more storage space. Jars keep notions like thread and buttons from getting dusty or spilled on the floor by little hands.

Thanks for letting us into your space, Lisa! You can see more of her studio {here} and {here}.

Dreaming of Jelly Rolls,

Studio Tour: Aunt Polly’s Porch

Today we are touring the studio of  Moda Bake Shop Chef Polly Monica of the blog Aunt Polly’s Porch.

{Have you joined our Show Off Your Stash Link Party yet? If not, you can link up here.}

Let’s take a peek inside this fabric-filled sewing space!

See what I mean? Polly keeps her stash organized (and labeled!) by color. She has a spot for everything a quilter could want: a nice large quilting surface, ironing table, cutting table, and plenty of storage for notions and tools.

Polly even has an adorable sewing companion:

I’m sure many of you can relate. There is just something about quilting fabric that seems to attract pets, isn’t there?

Thanks for letting us into your space, Polly! You can see more of her studio {here} and {here}.

Getting Organized,

Studio Tour: Cut to Pieces

 Today we are touring the studio of  Moda Bake Shop Chef Angela Pingel of the blog Cut To Pieces.

{Have you joined our Show Off Your Stash Link Party yet? If not, you can link up here.}

Let’s take a peek inside this lovely sewing space!

Angela tells us that “Having a sewing room is an indulgence that has become a necessity in my life.  With a curious two year old, keeping sharp objects out of reach has been a daily task since she was born. But there is no denying that safety ALMOST takes a backseat to beauty in my sewing room.  I need a space that feels like an escape…a retreat…an inspiration.”

How does Angela keep her space so tidy? She used comic book backer boards to organize most of her yardage to look like mini bolts of fabric. She also keeps her thread organized by color.  A lot of her fabric storage space comes from a built-in bookcase, which she convinced her husband “needed to be this particular shade of blue.” I think it was a lovely choice!

Thanks for letting us into your space, Angela! You can see more of her studio {here}.
