Cherry Bar Table Runner

• Whimsy Moda Jelly Roll JR20120 {a Moda charm pack could be substituted}
• 1/4 yard Whimsy sku#20126 17 red borders
• 1/2 yard Whimsy sku#20122 11 multi binding
• 1/2 yard Whimsy sku#20124 16 butterscotch backing
• batting at least 18″ x 34″
• separate your jelly roll strips and choose 32  fabrics for your table runner
• keep 2 tomato red solid strips for the Bar pieces.
• block A: cut {32} print strips 2.5″ X 3.5″
• block B: subcut the tomato strips into {32} 1.5″ X 2.5″ strips
In addition to the main A and B blocks, you will need 4 print pieces 1.5″ X 3.5″
• choose those 4 fabrics (note only 3 are pictured)
• Cut them as shown and set aside: D blocks.
• pin block A to B and make 30 blocks.
* There are 2 tomato bars set aside for row 2 and 4.
• Iron toward the tomato solid.
• Using the picture for the block layout referal and this formula:
• Pair them up and sew together.
Row 1 ABABABABABABA
Row 2 *DBABABABABABABD*
Row 3 ABABABABABABA
Row 4 *DBABABABABABABD*
Row 5 ABABABABABABA
*note D block
 • Continue sewing the blocks into rows/strips.
• Using the picture then sew your rows together.
• Cut 2 side border strips Tomato Red 1.5″ X 28″
• Cut 2 top and bottom strips 1.5″ X 12.5″
• Sew side borders first
• then sew top and bottom borders
• Layer, and quilt with either stitch in the ditch, x’s, overall meander etc. and bind!
